Police appeal for witnesses after assault

Police wish to trace three members of the public who are potential witnesses to an assault in Ipswich.

The incident happened at the Co-Op store on Woodbridge Road, Ipswich around 11.25am on Saturday 26 July.

Police attended and arrested a man. Robert Burch, aged 24 years from Ulster Avenue, Ipswich has since been charged with two counts of assault and two counts of theft from a shop and is due to appear before Ipswich Magistrates’ Court today.

Police are keen to speak to three men, two who had been inside the store and one outside who may have witnessed the incident.

The men or anyone else who witnessed this assault should call PSI Chris Mahoney at Suffolk Police on 101 quoting IE/14/1991 or Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
