Suffolk police are searching for witnesses to a New Year’s Day assault.

It happened in Ipswich at around 2.20am on Norwich Road close to the junction with Bramford Road.

A man was pushed and then hit in the face by another man wearing dark clothing.

The blow to the face caused the victim to fall to the ground after which the other man walked away along Norwich Road towards the town centre.

Anyone who witnessed the incident should call Dc David Spence at Ipswich CID on 101.
