THIEVES pushed a woman to the floor before stealing her handbag.

The incident happened last night in the alleyway from Garrick Way leading to Elmcroft Road, Ipswich.

The 68-year-old was walking down the alleyway at 7pm when she saw a man walking towards her.

She was pushed to the floor and her handbag was stolen. It contained cards, cash and a mobile phone.

The man then ran off towards the park.

The victim sustained grazing and bruising after the incident.

The offender is described as black, aged between 18 to 20, around 5ft 7ins tall, of medium build, had short hair and was wearing dark coloured clothing.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call Ipswich Priority Crime Team on 101.
