A man has been charged with rape in Ipswich, police have said.

The charge follows the rape of a 27-year-old woman in Cromer Road, Ipswich, at around 8.30pm on Monday.

Mohammed Al Jaf Sarteb Sabir, 21, of Cromer Road, Ipswich, has been charged with rape and is set to appear at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates court tomorrow morning, a Suffolk Constabulary spokesman said.
