Amy Knott, 27, has decided to run for the charity after her 24-year-old sister, Laura, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis last year.

Amy, of Ipswich, hopes to raise at least £750 and she is also organising a disco in March which she hopes will help her edge closer to the target.

She said: “We were shocked [at the diagnosis], but almost relieved, because Laura had been worried it was a brain tumour.”

Amy, a nursery nurse, said that her training is going well and she has already completed a 13-mile run.
