A 31-year-old man was arrested at the weekend in relation to a collision between a car and a motorcycle in Ipswich, after which the car failed to stop at the scene.

The incident happened in Nacton Road, at the junction for Bishops Hill, at about 9pm on Friday.

The motorcycle rider suffered a broken leg and pelvis and was taken to Addenbrookes Hospital for treatment.

A car involved in the collision, a black Volkswagen Golf, failed to stop at the scene.

A spokesman for Suffolk police said at the weekend that a man was arrested in relation to the incident.

  • Keep your eyes on the road and check your mirrors people! Motorcyclists are (generally) keeping an eye out for potential dangers, but we can't predict people doing unpredictable things. Running away doesn't help either. I had somebody clip me, damaging my bike, and drive away, luckily I was uninjured and caught them up to get their details, or a phone photo of the reg plate at least. Mirror - blind spot - then move. Easy. Might save a hefty insurance bill ;) - side note: would be nice if Archant allowed paragraphs and special characters such as the slash
