One week old Peighton King is the fifth generation of females born to the same family. Joyce Fuller, 92, Dawn Hutton, 64 Clare Maddison, 37, Casey Maddison, 18, and Peighton King, one week.

Five generations of females have joined in celebration of an historic family first.

The birth of Peighton King at Ipswich Hospital last week made her the family’s fifth successive generation of females alive today.

Adoring grandma Clare Maddison said the tight-knit family was all doting on her with extra special attention.

“We are a very close family and everyone was very excited,” she said.

“I’d never heard of a family having five generations before - I think it’s quite a big thing.”

Peighton was born to 18-year-old Casey Maddison and her partner Tom King. She follows grandma Clare, 37, great-grandma Dawn Hutton, 64, and great-great-grandma Joyce Fuller, 92.

All five were born at Ipswich Hospital and still live in the town today.

  • "All five were born at Ipswich Hospital"? - maybe, but NOT at the same hospital (as is implied by the wording) as the current Ipswich Hospital didn't exist when the first two were born! I guess those two ladies were born at the old, former Ipswich & East Suffolk Hospital in Anglesea Road?
