A driver who crashed in to a garage and needed rescuing by firefighters slipped and pressed on the accelerator when trying to get out of the car, police have said.
Three fire engines were sent to Cherry Blossom Close, Ipswich, at around 5.15pm today when a Honda Civic drove in to the integral garage of a house.
Firefighters freed the 35-year-old male driver after he “slipped when trying to get out of the car and pressed on the accelerator” according to a Suffolk police spokesman, who explained this caused the car to crash in to the garage.
He suffered minor injuries and was cut free by 5.55pm.
A Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service spokesman added: “The car had driven into an integral garage of a house and the driver’s legs were trapped.”
