Lewis Jarrett

The family of Lewis Jarrett have described him as “a diamond sparkling with wit” in a tribute to the 26-year-old who died after a traffic collision last month.

It is thought Mr Jarrett had just got out of a car next to the A140 in Stoke Ash when he was involved in the crash with a Ford C-Max. He was taken to hospital with serious head and leg injuries but later died.

Now his family have said it was “a privilege and an honour” to know the former Copleston High School student who will always be in their hearts.

In a statement released through Suffolk police they said: “Lewis was such a special person who touched the lives of so many. He was a much loved son of Jenny and David, brother to Liam and special uncle to Kelsie.

“Lewis brought so much happiness to those around him. He was a diamond sparkling with wit, intelligence, talent and determination to succeed in everything he did.

“He achieved so much in his 26 years. Having been educated in Ipswich (Morland Primary School, Copleston High School and sixth form) he went on to Oxford Brookes University where he graduated with a first class degree in 2010 and continued to excel when he went on to become a qualified accountant (Associate Chartered Accountant) receiving prizes along the way.

“For the past two years Lewis had worked as a Chartered Accountant at Ballams Chartered Accountants where he kept his work colleagues entertained with his random singing.

“Lewis was a keen sportsman and played football regularly. He also played cricket on Sundays for Freston. He was a fully certified PADI open water diver and enjoyed diving in the Great Barrier Reef whilst travelling with his good friend Aaron in Australia and Thailand.

“He was so loved and will continue to be loved by everyone and he will always be in our hearts. It was a privilege and an honour to have Lewis in our lives.”
