Firefighters had to be called out after two people managed to get themselves trapped in cars.

The first incident happened at around 12.10pm when a man got his hand stuck in a gap between his car’s glovebox and its dashboard in Fletcher Road, Ipswich.

The crew from Ipswich East had managed to free the man’s after 15 minutes.

The second incident happened at the Shell Garage in London Road, Ipswich at around 2.30pm, when a child managed to lock themselves into a car.

They had been freed by firefighters within 15 minutes.

  • What happened to common sense? I get annoyed when I hear that idiots, yes, that is all that they can be called, do not have any sense of personal responsibility or possess a single degree of resourcefulness and phone 999 or hog A&E when there are other ways of getting their problems fixed. Perhaps it is time to introduce legislation to fine people for wasting emergency services' time and resources. I blame the nanny state concept; roll back 40-50 years when mums, dads and the extended family and neighbours sorted everything without bothering others.
