Ipswich singer Jade Mayjean Peters last night thanked her mentor Kylie Minogue and her fans after missing out on progressing to the live stage of BBC talent contest The Voice.

The 21-year-old’s spectacular run came to an end on Saturday following her performance of Blue Moon.

Despite earning rave reviews from judges throughout previous rounds, Jade was left out of coach Kylie Minogue’s final three for the live shows.

Yesterday she said she wanted to thank everyone who had helped towards making her dream a reality.

She said: “I would like to say a massive thank you to Kylie for all her support and guidance, and the amazing production team on The Voice. I wish the best of luck to Lee, Rachel and Jamie in the live shows.

“It’s been so nice to read all your lovely comments and well wishes from old and new friends and fans.

“I have been singing and writing for a number of years and I’m not stopping now. I have so many exciting things in the coming months, and I hope that you’re with me from the start of an amazing new journey.”

Fans of the former Northgate High School pupil need not be too downhearted, as Jade is set to star in her own concert at Ipswich’s Corn Exchange on September 6.

The borough’s culture portfolio-holder Bryony Rudkin said: “She has shown that she is the next singing sensation from this area and she has a fabulous voice. I am sure many fans will welcome the opportunity to see her at the Corn Exchange.”

Tickets are already on sale.
