AN AIR ambulance has been called to rescue a man in his 60s trapped inside his car following a single-vehicle accident.

Fire crews and ambulances were sent to Bury Road, Wattisfield to free the trapped motorist in his white Nissan Cabstar just after 10.50am.

An air ambulance was called just before 11:43am in an attempt to take him to Norfolk and Norwich hospital. The incident is ongoing.

Suffolk Police confirmed the man’s injuries are not thought to be life-threatening, and believe he has sustained a fractured leg.

Drivers faced delays as the road was blocked by the vehicle in both directions.
