A man was robbed of his wallet in an incident in Ipswich last night.

The 26-year-old was walking along Little Bramford Lane around 8.45pm when he felt a hand go into his coat pocket and his wallet being taken.

He turned around to stop the person but was punched in the face before the offender fled, running off towards Bramford Lane.

The man sustained swelling and bruising to his face and his black wallet, containing cash and cards, was stolen.

Police are asking anyone who may have been in the area around this time or anyone with information about the person involved to come forward.

Call 101, quoting reference IC/14/1638.
