A man was assaulted after he intervened when two boys were arguing in Ipswich.

Police are appealing for information after the assault, which happened at the entrance to a park in Bantoft Terrace at about 4.45pm on Wednesday.

A man was walking a dog with a woman, when they saw the two boys, aged around 10 years old having a verbal argument.

He then challenged them but one of the boys walked away and returned a short time later with a man, who then assaulted the male victim. The offender is described as a man, with a tanned complexion, of a stocky build, who was around 5’7” tall and between 28 to 32-years-old. He had short black hair, facial stubble, a tattoo on his lower back and was wearing white three-quarter length trousers. He also did not have a top on and wore sporty sunglasses.

A woman was with him described as of a less tanned complexion, between 28 to 32-years-old, of a skinny build and was wearing all white clothing.

Anyone with information relating to this crime should contact Pc Thomas Ealham from Ipswich on 101 quoting IE/14/1745 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

  • You evade the question - If someone got assaulted outside of YOUR house you would be happy to be tarred with the same brush as the offender ? If so then carry on with the insults & good luck to you - if not then you should apologise.

  • Having lived in 'that area' for over 20 years and had no problems to speak of I find the comments by richard, gabi and had enough really offensive. If someone got assualted outside richard's, gabis's or had enough's house I presume they would be happy to be tarred with the same brush as the offender ?

  • Three-quarter length trousers, eh? Say no more. This little shorty obviously hasn`t got the required IQ to have graduated to full-length.
