A MUM has told of her heartache after thieves pinched her eight-year-old son’s beloved motocross bikes.

Mum-of-three Stacy Sesto is appealing for residents near her home in Hogarth Road to contact police if they have any information about the theft of the two KTM bikes, worth almost £3,000.

The bikes belonged to eight-year-old Mason Sesto-Wright, who has won trophies for his motocross efforts and was due to start the new racing season in a matter of months.

Officers are still carrying out enquiries after the culprits struck between 4pm on Saturday and 9am the following day. They climbed over the garden wall before breaking into a secure shed and stealing the bikes.

Miss Sesto, who has three sons, said: “We are just devastated about it. I can’t really understand why and how someone could steal from a child. It is very low.

“We first noticed they had gone when we woke up. Mason is devastated and I’m really upset about it.

“Mason just keeps looking out of the window and asking when the police are going to bring back his bikes. He was meant to be starting racing again in a few months.

“Someone must know what has happened to the bikes.

“I just hope that those who know about it come forward and help get my son his bikes back. I hope my appeal triggers someone to speak out.”

A police spokesman said it was thought the bikes were stolen and dragged through neighbouring Landseer Road, with track marks found leading to a wooded area.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Pc Andrew Overton of the Ipswich Response Team on 101.
