The borough council’s opposition leader John Carnall has stood down today, it has been announced.
Mr Carnall, who was the leader of Ipswich Borough Council’s opposition Conservative Group, will remain a borough councillor for Bixley Ward.
The deputy group leader, Chris Stewart, will be acting leader of the group until a new Conservative Group Leader is elected.
