A restuarant owner has today blasted mindless vandals who are making his life a misery after targeting his business AGAIN.
Aklasur Rahman, who runs the Gulshan Indian Takeaway in Stoke Street, hit out at criminals after the front door was smashed in and the till was stolen last Wednesday night.
The 43-year-old said he is contemplating calling time on the business, which he opened in 1996.
Detectives are investigating the incident and Mr Rahman pleaded with anyone who saw what happened or has information to get in contact with police.
He also called on Ipswich Borough Council to install more CCTV cameras in the area.
“We have been suffering repeated acts of vandalism for many years,” he told The Star.
“On Wednesday night someone smashed through our front door and stole the till, leaving a lot of damage.
“They even took a payphone with them.”
He added: “They are terrorising our business and it is costing us dearly.
“We had to turn away customers paying by card because we could only take cash.
“Over the years we have suffered these attacks frequently. And then on Thursday night vandals attacked our cars.
“Three of our cars, parked behind the restaurant, had their windscreens smashed.”
He said the vandalism attacks have not only affected his business but knocked his confidence too.
“It makes you feel like packing up and closing the business.
“There is only so much we can take.”
The incident happened between 12.15am and 4.30pm on Thursday. Anyone with information should call Pc Shawn Wakeling from Ipswich on 101 quoting IW/13/3161 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
