Oyster is preparing for a quick turnaround following the 2014 London Boat Show, which ends on Sunday.

Although Oyster was not exhibitiing a yacht at this year’s London show, a decision it attributes to a decline in relevant visitors over recent years, it has had a stand at the event which opened on January 4.

However, its focus is now shifting to the Dusseldorf Boat Show in Germany, which starts just six days after the London show on January 18 and runs until January 26, where it will be staging the world premiere of its new Oyster 825 model.

Ipswich-based Oyster ended 2013 with a year of profitable trading under its belt, including 14 sales of its Oyster 575 model, and a forward orderbook of more than 30 more yachts.

Chief executive David Tydeman said Oyster’s presence at the London show was part of a strategy of “starting the conversation” with potential buyers of the luxury brand, with the debut of the 825 at Dusseldorf being its main focus.
