The helicopter was called in by officers after youngsters were witnessed scaling scaffolding around a property in Lloyds Avenue.

A spokesman said: “We had some earlier reports of some males climbing up some scaffolding in Lloyds Avenue. To our knowledge they are up there on the rooftop and the police helicopter is still up having a look at them.”

  • Perhaps people would prefer these climbing idiots to burn the joint down, steal laptops or cause damage costing thousands to repair? If you`ve got an air asset only a fool would keep it on the ground in a case like this.

  • Does this really warrent the thousands of pounds it costs to get the helicopter up? They'll come down when their hungry, then the police can arrest them, or if they get hurt they've only got themselves to blame.
