There was an attempted break in at two town centre shops this morning.


Police cordoned off an area near St Lawrence’s Church in Dial Lane after evidence was found suggesting someone had tried to force their way inside.

The attempt occurred between 5.30am and 8am today.

It is thought their targets were Accessorize and the Thomas Cook travel agents.

Proposals to install solar panels on 2,000 council homes across Ipswich have been abandoned after the Government announced it was changing the tariffs paid for renewable energy.
