McCarthy & Stone, the UK developer of retirement apartments, is opening up its Booth Court development in Ipswich to help support its chosen charity the Royal Voluntary Service (RVS).

The development on Handford Road will hold a special recruitment drive, which will take place on Wednesday February 12 from 10am to 3pm, where visitors can learn more about the RVS and sign up to become a volunteer themselves.

Gill Sabin, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for McCarthy & Stone, said: “We’re delighted that we are able to support the RVS by holding the recruitment drive at Booth Court. We are keen to support the communities in which we build in and we hope that both the RVS and local residents can benefit from the event.”

McCarthy & Stone announced the RVS as their Charity of the Year in September 2013.

The charity’s volunteers have an average age of 64 and the retirement developer has a real affinity with the RVS as they have many homeowners at their developments across the country actively engaged in volunteering.

Caroline Parr, RVS’ locality manager for Suffolk added: “We’re very pleased that McCarthy & Stone has allowed us to use the development and we would love to see as many faces as possible come down to learn more about how volunteering for the RVS can help enrich their lives.”

McCarthy & Stone is currently selling one and two bedroom Assisted Living apartments exclusively for the over 70s at Booth Court.

In addition to stylish, low maintenance properties, Booth Court benefits from communal facilities, including a table service restaurant and communal lounge, plus personal care, domestic assistance and other support services all in a safe and secure environment that offers peace of mind and continued independence in a property they continue to own.

Staff will be on site 24 hours a day and can be called in an instant courtesy of the 24 hour emergency call system.

Importantly for both homeowners and their family, Assisted Living offers the reassurance and peace of mind that their loved ones are in good hands.

Anyone wanting to find out more about Assisted Living or the recruitment drive at Booth Court should contact McCarthy & Stone on 0800 201 4741 to make an appointment to visit the development.
