Ixworth: Passenger with spinal injuries cut free from crash wreckage

FIREFIGHTERS helped release a person with spinal injuries from the wreckage of a crash near Bury St Edmunds.

Crews from the town joined colleagues Ixworth, where a passenger was trapped in a vehicle following a collision on the A1088 just before 5pm.

They used cutting equipment to remove the roof and release the casualty, who had suspected spinal injuries and was taken to hospital.

A second person was already out of the vehicle when emergency services arrived and was given first aid at the scene.
