The Theatre Emporium School of Performing Arts was successful in its bid to perform, and will grace the stage on Tuesday to perform a 20 minute medley of nine pieces celebrating the magic of Christmas.

A successful audition of song and dance numbers over the summer led to a confirmation phone call in August, and since September the group of 20 students aged 12-19 have been hard at work rehearsing the routine.

Remarkably, just seven groups from across the whole of Europe are chosen to play in the premium Christmas week, with the Theatre Emporium representing England.

Principal and artistic director Victoria Charles Saker said: “It has always been a dream of mine to take the students to Disneyland Paris and to have The Theatre Emporium students performing in one of the most magical places in the world.

“It’s been a dream come true to work on a Christmas Performance together for our favourite place”

“We’ve always created magic and this is the ultimate experience!”

As well as performing the magic, the group will also have a chance to soak up the spellbinding atmosphere for themselves, staying for four days to enjoy the park and studios, rides, fireworks and meet the characters before returning in time for Christmas with their families.

“The students are jumping for joy and bursting with excitement,” Ms Saker Charles said. “We have been working hard since September on top of our other shows to enable us to ensure our finest performance yet.”

It caps off a busy year for the Theatre Emporium which included becoming a Suffolk private centre for the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and performances at DanceEast and Seckford Theatre.

Meanwhile, 2018 is already looking promising with its fifth anniversary and plans to launch a School of Dance in the pipeline.

Ms Saker Charles added: “Reflecting on the past five years fills me with pride for the young people I have watched grow and flourish as performers. I value and treasure the opportunity to train and showcase their passion for the arts.”
