Information is being sought after a man in a car was spotted by two girls with his jeans down around his knees and acting in an ‘indecent manner’.

Two 11-year-old girls were walking along Bell Lane, towards Foxhall Road, in Kesgrave at about 4pm on Wednesday when they saw a dark blue car at the side of the road, just past the junction at Penzance Road.

The car was partially on the road and partially on the verge.

When the girls walked past, they saw the man inside the vehicle who was described as acting inappropriately.

Both girls continued walking and then phoned the police.

The man is described as white and aged in his late 30s to early 40s.

Police believe there were other people in the area at this time and are keen to trace a woman with a pushchair and a dog who was walking behind the two girls .

If you saw the incident, or can help police with inquiries, call PC Pete Gill at Police Headquarters, Martlesham Heath on 101.

  • To have your trousers down surely you would be masturbating? That is indecent.

  • perhaps its a parental lesson too for your kids not to venture into the personal space of peoples cars? It depends on the car I suppose but how would they know he was wearing jeans and that they were around his knees? Also depends if internal lighting made it more obvious as at 4pm its rather dark. Its a rather built up part of Bell Lane, if memory serves me right facing south-bound there is only a path on the left, so parking on the road and verge would be angled away from the pavement? and the absence of Ipswich Star saying the man exposed himself to the girls seems to tell it was incidental. I am not sure what more the pushchair dog-walker woman could bring to this. Although if it was more than embarrassed-man-caught coincidently, he should be prosecuted.
