Witnesses are being sought after a pet cat returned to its Kesgrave home with patches shaved out of her fur.

Lexie the cat went missing from her home in Edmonton Road between 12.30pm and 4.30pm on Tuesday and when she returned, several patches had been shaved in one of her sides.

Police are appealing for anyone with information, or who knows the person responsible, to call the Kesgrave and District Safer Neighbourhood Team by dialling 101, quoting reference WO/14/447.

  • This happened to my cat too. But mine was about 6 months ago. Thought it was weird. In the last few weeks my cats fare has changed from white to an orange colour. It's only on the ends and not from the roots. I hope they find out who had done this, the person clearly has mental issues.

  • Do they need to take it to the vets? Surely a shaved pussy is vulnerable to cold ?

  • So this explains the relentless use of flashing blue lights and sirens over the last 24 hours. All units, code red!

  • It undoubtedly deserved what it got. Probably more, if it's anything like the verminous moggies that infest my area of town.

  • My previous unpublished comments weren't a joke, some cats do poo in others gardens, and some older people do tend to take revenge in strange ways.

  • CATS!!!!Blooming things, I am fed up with cats using my front garden as a toilet, pooing right under my kitchen window, in summer I can't have it open because of the flies. If people want cats keep them in their own house and garden. Stinking things..

  • The policeman looks as amused as me. If the only thing that has happened is a few shaved patches then surely we don;t have to waste police time on such a trivial matter? The cat's probably been crapping on or piddling in someone's garden so someone has taken action to make the cat less inclined to return. I strange form of punishment I agree. I would go for a quick blast with the hose pipe.
