09:59 28 June 2014
Police are appealing for information following a robbery in Kesgrave where a 12-year-old boy had his mobile phone stolen.
The incident happened at around 4.30pm yesterday in a play park area in Baird Grove.
The boy was in the park with a friend when he was approached by two men, who had come from the direction of the library. The men spoke to him and demanded he hand over his mobile phone - threatening to punch him if he didn’t.
One of the men then took the Nokia mobile phone that the boy was holding in his hand and both walked off.
The boy saw the pair walk off along the walkway which leads from Baird Grove, alongside the tennis courts, towards the library and Tesco. They walked across the Tesco carpark and then along Ropes Drive.
The first man is described as white, 18-20, with blond hair with a longer fringe swept across his forehead, 6ft and of medium build. He wore a red T-shirt, baggy grey tracksuit bottoms, red and white trainers and a grey and blue woollen hat.
The second man was also aged between 18 and 20, with short black hair under a woollen hat, around 5ft10in, wearing a grey T-shirt and similar track suit bottoms.
Police carried out a search of the area after receiving the report but were unable to locate the offenders.
If you were in the area and saw two men matching this description around the stated times or recognise the men from the descriptions you are asked to call Dc Victoria Mitchell at Woodbridge CID on 101, quoting WO/14/967, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
