The annual Ipswich Remembrance Sunday service was held at Christchurch Park in 1994 as crowds gathered to pay their respects to those who died serving their country.

Remembrance Day has been observed since the end of the First World War to remember members of the armed forces who have died in the line of duty.

It follows a tradition which was inaugurated by King George V in 1919.

Pictures captured on that November day in 1994 in Ipswich show crowds of people of all ages paying their respect with different services laying down flowers at the War Memorial. The service was also attended by the mayor of the time.
