A lorry overturned on the A14 near Felixstowe this afternoon, causing major traffic disruption in the area.

Emergency services were called to the scene just after the Dock Spur roundabout at around 12.35pm.

One lane of the road was closed for several hours.

Recovery arrived at the scene just after 6.30pm.

Vehicles heading towards the Port of Felixstowe were diverted along the A154 Candlet Road.

The driver of the lorry is believed to have sustained minor injuries.

Police say an investigation into the circumstances of the incident is now underway.
