Ten-year-old Martlesham Beacon Hill Primary School pupil Leo Vanmegen won Tesco’s competition to design the bag.

Sixty Key Stage Two pupils from the school were given the opportunity to get creative with ideas for how the company’s “Click and Collect” service could be shown on the bags.

Teacher Julie Febvre said: “Leo spent an afternoon doing the work in an art lesson but it was very much his idea, he is very creative.

“He is very good and has an eye for detail. Anything with art and design he does really well at.

“The pupils really enjoyed it. It was good for them to do something related to the real world. Their designs were really imaginative and it was good for them to have a link with the local community.”

Bosses from the Tesco’s store in Martlesham Heath arranged to work with pupils from the school on the competition.

The “Click and Collect” service works with customers ordering produce to then pick it up in-store.
