A Kesgrave motorist has been left red-faced after being slapped with two fixed penalty notices for anti-social parking on the same spot in just six days.
Council-funded PCSO Mike Sarbutts issued the first notice on the black BMW on Tuesday, April 4, which was parked obstructing the pavement in Bell Lane close to Long Strops.
But less than a week later on Monday, April 10 the same car appeared in exactly the same place parked completely on the pavement, prompting the eagle-eyed PCSO to issue a second notice and Tweet a picture of the discourteous driver’s parking.
“PCSOs on patrol will ticket if vehicles are causing an obstruction or illegally parking,” PCSO Sarbutts said.
“Those found to be obstructing pavements can affect the safety of both pedestrians and road users.
He added: “We would urge motorists to park considerately.”
Parking within Ipswich is enforced by Ipswich Borough Council, while officers outside of Ipswich can issue parking notices for illegal and obstructing parking.
