Needham Market: Crews called to building following reports of fire

Firefighters were called to a block of flats in Needham Market this afternoon following reports of a blaze inside the building.

The incident in School Street, was reported at about 12.10pm and crews from Needham Market, Princes Street, Ipswich and Elmswell were sent to the scene.

There were reports that people were inside the building but everybody was accounted for. The blaze was brought under control at 12.40pm.

The Orwell Bridge remains open this morning but the strongest winds are expected after 8am.

One lane of the A12 was closed to traffic this morning, causing lengthy delays, due to a collision and oil spillage near Colchester.
