A dog saved from certain death after being left in a roadside bin has launched a new crime campaign.

Dusty and owner Jason Bloomfield were invited to Needham Lake by Suffolk Constabulary for the opening of their Paws on Patrol initiative.

Dogs had the chance to try an agility course as part of the day, which encouraged owners to register so they can report any suspicious behaviour they come across.

Mr Bloomfield, who lives in Creeting St Mary, found Dusty in a bin by the A14 in 2012 while at work with his council clean-up team.

He said: “He was a little bit nervous doing the obstacle course but he went up and down it.

“A lot of people recognised us from the paper and people came up and said hello and came to meet me. They said they were pleased as he has come a long way, it’s a nice feeling.”
