A businessman is this week expanding his beauty treatment kiosk inside an Ipswich mall into a full-size unit as it has proved increasingly popular among customers.

Ravishing Beauty opened a pop-up service at Sailmakers Shopping Centre last year to perform eyebrow threading and tinting, eye lash extensions and manicures.

Now owner Ronit Patil is launching a salon in the centre, with plans to take on a further five staff while keeping the kiosk as well.

Ravishing Beauty is the North London-based tycoon’s first solo venture and he said: “The kiosk has been very successful and now as the weather improves and it gets warmer I think it is the right time to expand the business here in Ipswich.

“There will be manicures and pedicures, threading, waxing and massage and we want to work with Suffolk College to create opportunities for their beauty therapy students.”

The change follows the recent opening of Crafty Cards and Gifts while department store Baldwins returned to the centre before Christmas.

Mike Sorhaindo, manager of Sailmakers, said: “It is another boost for the centre and to the local economy and justifies the investment made in the centre.”
