A man has been arrested after two police officers and a member of the public were attacked at a Norwich club.

It happened in Prince of Wales Road at about 1am this morning after officers were called to Mojo’s following reports a number of women had been assaulted inside the nightclub.

While dealing with a suspect outside Ossi’s takeaway and Beeline Taxis someone assaulted the officers.

One officer was knocked unconscious and suffered a broken leg and back injuries while another suffered head injuries.

The latter officer was able to remain on duty after being treated by paramedics but the former had to be taken to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital by ambulance.

A 21-year-old woman believed to have been assaulted in the club was also taken to hospital with minor head injuries and has since been released.

A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and is in custody at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre.

Anyone who saw the incident or has information about it should call Norwich CID on 101.
