24 hour sponsored dance marathon at Kesgrave February 1978

Our historical trip through the archives continues and this week we come to 1978 and bring you these images.

This week we have found pictures of a 24 hour sponsored dance marathon in Kesgrave, the Miss 18 plus competition in Felixstowe and the Chief Scout award at Sprites School in Ipswich. Along with these we also found images of children toboganning in Christchurch Park, the Suffolk schoolboys’ football team and the Ipswich firemens’ children’s party.

Are you in any of these pictures? Drop us a line.

We have also heard from Jill Constable, who contacted the Star after seeing the picture of the Cubs last week.

She writes: “The Cub on the left is my son, Stephen Constable; the one on the right is Adrian Cook. “I believe this was taken when the boys were nine or 10 years old. Adrian’s mum and I were Cub leaders at the time and the familes are still the best of friends. “It was lovely to see the photo, bringing back memories.”

If you have any memories you wish to share with Star readers, email us at starnews@archant.co.uk
