Do these pictures taken from the 1981 Hadleigh Brett Canoe Race in 1981 spark any memories?
These nostalgic photos show dozens of keen canoests battling the currents along River Brett.
There appears to be little information relating to the event, and we are now appealing for any former competitors or organisers to get in touch with us.
The river is now host to the Hadleigh Duck and Raft Race. Teams usually take part in fancy dress and race to the finish line. A thousand ducks are then released, again aiming to cross the line first.
Last year, the River Brett at Shelley, near Hadleigh, the Environment Agency carried out a £15,000 project in partnership with landowners, Suffolk Wildlife Trust and the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) to improve the river.
Over an 800-metre stretch, the project involved flow deflectors, embankment lowering, pool-riffle creation. and tree planting.
