THESE lads were enjoying a night out at Ipswich’s vodka bar when they were caught on camera back in 1999 but can you remember what you were doing as we neared the end of the last millennium? The photo is one of several from 1999 that were found in our archives, do you recognise anyone in it? Or perhaps you remember one of the others featured in our gallery - above right.


We have a photo from the May Day celebrations in Alexandra Park in Ipswich, another showing the mayor and catering staff at the Mayor’s Ball and some of the Co-op Juniors who took part in their production of My Fair Lady. Northgate High School celebrated a positive Ofsted report - were you a pupil at the time?

Two cars have been involved in a crash in Ipswich.

Foundation Street, Ipswich, around a century ago. Little remains of the ancient buildings in this street. This photograph was taken from near the junction of Lower Brook Street.

Foundation Street is one of the oldest streets in Ipswich, connecting the port with the town centre. Buildings which had stood for centuries were demolished in the early 1960s in what was then seen as “improvements”.
