A Suffolk charity has brought Christmas joy to families with seriously ill children.

Over the Rainbow children’s charity donated a special buggy, costing, £1,200 to help two-year-old Ezra Wyard, from Rendlesham, transport the equipment he needs to breathe properly, after being born prematurely.

His mother Carol, who left her job to become her son’s carer, said: “Despite being born so prematurely Ezra was doing well until he had a serious infection at five days old which resulted in him having bleeds on his lungs.”

She praised Over the Rainbow for giving her son – and the family – freedom to live a more normal life.

Charity founder, Bev Lambert, of Alderton, near Woodbridge, said: “It’s fantastic that we have been able to improve the quality of life not just for Ezra but his whole family.”

The charity has helped 15 children in its first two years, including Ipswich cancer sufferer Hayley Bendall, six, who was given a family trip to Lapland UK.
