Paramedics treat man in Ipswich after forklift truck rolls over

A man was taken to hospital after a forklift truck accident in Ipswich today.

The East of England Ambulance Service was called at 2.11pm to Anglesea Road.

Two ambulance crews attended a man in his 20s who had suffered a suspected broken ankle after the forklift he was driving rolled over.

He was given pain relief before being taken to Ipswich Hospital for further treatment.

His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

Customer spared jail

A man who told a building society cashier to hand over money while pointing what turned out to be a rolled newspaper under his coat at her has been given a suspended prison sentence for what was described as “a joke that hideously backfired.”

A robber who held-up an Ipswich taxi driver at knifepoint early this morning is being hunted by police.
