Parham: Morning thatch fire extinguished by firefighters

PUBLISHED: 13:22 05 May 2014

Archant

Fire crews tackled a thatch fire this morning in Parham.

It happened at around 10.50am at a two storey property.

The thatch around the chimney breast had caught fire, with crews from Woodbridge, Aldeburgh, Leiston, Princes Street and Ipswich East all attending.

Firefighters used ladders, a hosereel jet and a thermal imaging camera while tackling the blaze, which was out by 11.38.

One fire engine remained at the scene for half an hour to monitor the situation.
