Pier Marketing, Prominent PR and Big Wave shortlisted for Anglia, Thames and Chiltern PRide Awards

Three public relations agencies in Suffolk and north Essex have received multiple nominations in the regional CIPR PRide Awards, organised by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
The Anglia, Thames and Chiltern round of the awards covers the whole of East and South-East England, with the winners to be announced at a black tie dinner event in Cambridge in September.
Pier Marketing, based in Felixstowe, has been shortlisted for a total of seven awards, with campaigns for the East of England Co-op’s Sourced Locally Fortnight and for Ipswich-based boatbuilder Spirit Yachts each in the running in both the Consumer Relations Campaign and Best Use of Media Relations categories.
Pier’s work for the East of England Co-op is also on the shortlist for Regional Campaign of the Year and the agency is also nominated for both Outstanding Small Public Relations Consultancy and – the top award – Outstanding Public Relations Consultancy.

Prominent PR from Ipswich has been shortlisted in four categories, including Not-for-Profit Campaign, for work with the national Will Aid charity initiative, Low Budget Campaign, for Dedham-based British Baby Box, and Outstanding Small PR Consultancy, plus Outstanding Young Communicator of the Year, where marketing manager Abi Gagen is among the contenders.
Managing Director Helen Rudd said: “To have been shortlisted in every single one of the categories we entered this year is testament to our skills, our passion and our ability to communicate effectively. I am particularly pleased for Abi Gagen who was headhunted by Prominent PR a year ago and who has worked on some of our largest accounts.”
Big Wave PR, based in Colchester, is nominated in three categories, including Consumer Relations Campaign and Not-For-Profit Campaign, both for work with Remembrance Travel, the travel arm of the Royal British Legion, and Best Event, for a tour promoting pizza firm Papa John’s Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day.

Other nominees include CJAM from White Colne, near Colchester, which is also shortlisted in the Not-for-Profit Campaign category, for work with TyreSafe, and employee engagement specialist The Survey Initiative, based at Wix, near Manningtree, which is shortlisted in the Internal Communications Campaign category for work with drinks company Vimto.
The winners will be revealed at a gala awards event taking place on September 28 at The Guildhall in Cambridge.
