A district council has agreed to spend more than £75,000 on fitting new LED lights in its offices.

Mid Suffolk District Council’s executive committee voted unanimously in favour of the proposal yesterday.

The council will contribute almost £20,000 to the cost, with more than £55,000 coming from a loan.

The new lights, which require no ongoing maintenance, are expected to save the council £80,000 over the next 15 years.
