Rail commuters travelling between Norwich and London Liverpool Street are facing delays today following a points failure at Manningtree.

Engineers have now fixed the problem and the lines have been re-opened, but delays are expected to continue for at least an hour.

Greater Anglia have reported the 5.14am service from Ipswich to London Liverpool Street was the first service to be affected and was running 41 minutes late.

In a statement to commuters, a spokesman for the company added: “Network Rail Engineers have worked as quickly as possible to rectify the fault.

“We thank you for your patience, and apologise for the inconvenience this will cause.”
