Proposals for almost 60 new homes on the outskirts of a Suffolk market town will go under the microscope today.
House builder Taylor Wimpey is inviting people in Saxmundham to have their say on its plans for land to the south of Rendham Road.
Bosses are preparing a bid for 57 new homes on the site, which already has outline permission for a residential development.
The proposals will be displayed at Saxmundham Market Hall in the High Street between 3.30pm and 8pm today.
The consultation will give residents the opportunity to find out more about the scheme and discuss the project with the Taylor Wimpey team.
Feedback will then be used to help the developer refine its proposals before a reserved matters planning application is submitted to Suffolk Coastal District Council later this year.
The proposed site is situated between Rendham Road and the A12 and is immediately adjacent to a separate development which is currently under construction by another developer.
Mark Chapman, planning co-ordinator for Taylor Wimpey East Anglia, said: “We understand the importance of giving local people the chance to get involved and have their say on development plans for their community and that’s why we want to give Saxmundham residents every opportunity to view and comment on these proposals.
“Those visiting our public exhibition will be able to find out more about our latest plans and tell us what they think, helping us to ensure that our final scheme is in line with local aspirations and priorities.”
In accordance with the terms of the outline planning consent, the house builder will provide a proportion of affordable housing and contribute towards improving existing public open space and play facilities at Memorial Field. Funding will also be provided towards local education provision.
