The collision, between a car and a bicycle, happened on the B1121 at Saxmundham just before 7.45am on January 4.

David Noy, the 64-year-old cyclist, died as a result of the collision.

Witnesses and motorists were spoken to but police are keen to trace the driver of a silver Peugeot 206, captured on CCTV approaching the stretch of road.

The car, described as having ‘colour coded mouldings’ on its doors, approached the traffic lights in Church Street from the Leiston direction at 7.35am and turned left onto South Entrance towards Benhall.

Police would like to trace the driver as they may be of vital help to the investigation.

If you were the driver or recognise the car, call PC Roy Dade on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

A 46-year-old man arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop is due to answer bail on March 6.
