AFTER nearly 200 schools in Suffolk closed due to bad weather yesterday, all bar three are back open this morning.

Some schools are opening at 10am or allowing students a later registration window to ease the pressure on travel time.

Abbot’s Hall Primary School in Stowmarket and Meadow Primary School in Lowestoft are closed due to heating problems.

Stoke-by-Nayland Primary School, Bramfield School has a later registration this morning and Easton Primary School and St Mary’s Primary School in Lowestoft are opening at 10am.

Benjamin Britten High School in Lowestoft is opening as normal and Year 11 GCSE exams will be going ahead as planned.

In Essex, Clacton Coastal Academy is opening late at 10am while Doucecroft School in Colchester is closed.

With above-freezing temperatures, the difficult conditions in many parts of Suffolk and Essex are starting to clear and the roads are relatively trouble free this morning.

All Suffolk Coastal and Waveney refuse and recycling teams are back on the road today.

There will be no food and garden waste bins collected in either district, but the teams are emptying rubbish and recycling bins.

Those bins not emptied on Friday will be collected and the teams will also be working flat out to catch up with all those bins that should be have been visited yesterday when the service was cancelled in both districts.

Residents should continue putting out their rubbish and recyclable bins on their normal day as the teams will be working flat out to get all rounds back on schedule.
