PUBLISHED: 09:39 28 December 2017 | UPDATED: 15:24 18 April 2018

Police last night confirmed that a second man has died following a collision on the A14 at Rougham on Boxing Day.

The man had been said to have suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge where he died.

The incident happened on December 26 at 9.30pm when a grey Ford Fiesta was involved in a collision with a black Vauxhall Corsa on the A14 eastbound, just east of junction 45. The road remained closed until shortly after 5.30am yesterday morning.

Earlier yesterday, Suffolk Constabulary confirmed the name of the first man as being 18-year-old William Smedley from Bury St Edmunds.

A third male was taken to hospital for treatment but their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

A 19-year-old woman who was driving the Vauxhall Corsa was not injured.
