A POLICE investigation has begun after a second post office on the Shotley peninsular was targeted by thieves.
The latest break-in occurred in Bristol Hill, Shotley Gate, where burglars smashed their way in by breaking the glass in a door.
The raid occurred between 1.45am and 1.55am on Saturday.
Once they got inside the thieves stole cigarettes and tobacco.
The break-in came a week after the post office in Holbrook was targeted.
On that occasion the burglars left empty-handed after they removed a window and forced a door inside the property.
However, they fled after the burglar alarm sounded.
The incident occurred between 5.40pm on April 28 and 8.30am on April 30.
Anyone with information about either of the break-ins should telephone Pc Debbie Tyrrell or Pc Charlotte Williams at Ipswich Police in 01473 613500 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

@Martha: at least they corrected that headline but it looks like the interns don't know the difference between an adjective and a noun. Where's Crawford Gillan when you need him?

Quote: "However, they fled after the burglar alarm sounded. The incident occurred between 5.40pm on April 28 and 8.30am on April 30." The police did not hear the alarm ringing for 38 hours? No wonder the burglars managed to get away.

@TomDigby: Don't confuse them, it looks like they've put a new YTS trainee on the headlines. We had 'Suffolk: Andrea Hill’s imposed leave a “major political fail”' earlier!

Language lesson: peninsula is the noun, peninsular is the adjective.
