The family and friends of a teenager who died from a rare heart condition have carried on fundraising towards her memorial fund.

Melanie Webster, from Stowmarket, was one of more than 1,000 walkers who travelled across London to raise money for the heart charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY). Her daughter Lily, 15, collapsed in 2012 during a trampolining class.

Since then, family and friends have raised money for a CRY memorial fund, which was set up in her name.

Alison Cox, chief executive and founder of the charity, said: “Once again, it was wonderful – and very emotional – to see so many of our supporters come together in the heart of London to remember a friend or family member.”

Earlier this month, 200 people had their hearts screened thanks to some of the thousands of pounds raised for the fund at Stowmarket High School.
