FIREFIGHTERS were called to put out a small blaze that started in the basement of a house in Sudbury.

Two crews from the town were called by police just after 3.30pm to an address in Cornard Road.

A small fire had broken out in the basement of the house and was quickly extinguished using a single hose.

Both sets of firefighters had returned to their station by 6pm having made sure the area was safe.
